The Lifecore R100 is a commercial-grade rowing machine. What does this mean? Commercial-grade rowing machines have the ability to last for years, decades even, with intense usage all day long.
And if you own a fitness center or want a rower you can rely on for a lifetime of usage, the R100 is a great choice.
There are also robust features that make this rower one of the best in the industry (more on that soon). Measuring 92” x 19” x 36”, this rower is designed to hold a maximum weight capacity of 600 pounds, and it can fold up neatly if you want to store it away in the corner rather than letting it take up a large portion of your living room.
We were able to learn a lot about this model during our Lifecore R100 commercial rowing machine review, and there were some minor issues we experienced.
- Extremely well-built and sturdy
- Monitoring is highly accurate (minus the heartrate)
- Variable resistance programs allow for a robust workout
- Heart rate monitor is inaccurate
- Rolling is noisy
The seat is noisy when performing a catch and release. I suspect this is caused by the bearings in the seat, but I can’t know for sure. The heart rate monitor also seems to be inaccurate at times. Some of the readings were sporadic and didn’t match up to our wrist monitor, which we use for accuracy testing.
But these were minor issues that were quickly forgotten once we started rowing.
Our Lifecore R100 Commercial Rowing Machine Review
The Lifecore R100 will take 20 – 30 minutes to assemble, but you only need an allen wrench, which is included in the box. Within just minutes, you’ll be breaking into a sweat.
The seat was moderately comfortable, and the quality of this machine is top-notch. Commercial-grade, this model is backed by a 5-year warranty, and it has a smooth operation despite the seat being somewhat noisy. The footrests are angled to provide just the right amount of support, while the heel supports pivot.
Maintenance is virtually non-existent, too.
As you break out in a sweat, you’ll find an adjustable fan that will keep you cool right on the front of the machine to make your workout more comfortable. If you are interested in finding a good rower workout then check out our guide.
The monitoring system is where the real magic happens – and a heart rate monitor is included.
When monitoring your workout, you’ll be able to track:
There is also a recovery setting available. Users allow you to customize your workout for the whole family. When you start rowing, you’ll also be able to choose between:
- 15 preset programs
- 4 heart rate programs
These programs will push your fitness to the next level. They also automatically adjusts the rower’s magnetic resistance between 16 levels so that you’re always tested and workout as hard as possible when rowing.
The Lifecore R100 is the ideal choice for gyms and fitness centers, but it can also be a high-end home model that lasts for years. With robust user settings, programs, resistance levels and a 5-year warranty, the Lifecore R100 allows you to maximize each rowing session to reach your fitness goals.
