Our Sunny Health and Fitness SF-RW5606 Review
There’s a lot to like about the SF-RW5606 rower. While it’s not comparable to a water rower or the high-end Concept II, it is a great machine for anyone on a budget or those who are just getting started with rowing.
The simple design of this rower makes it easy to use. It won’t take up too much space in your home either.
The elastic cord resistance system offers four levels of adjustable tension, so you can make your workouts more challenging. The tension is adjusted via a bar on the front side of the machine.
The resistance system is unique with this rower because it’s not magnetic, air or water – it’s resistance band. The band system is surprisingly smooth and higher resistance levels do deliver a challenge even for intermediate rowers.
The oversized, angled seat is comfortable to sit on, even after a long workout. The anti-slip pedals keep your feet firmly in place. While Sunny Health and Fitness includes foot straps, they really aren’t necessary. This rower is balanced and the anti-slip feature on the pedals really keeps you securely in place.
The SF-RW5606 can accommodate most users with ease, offering a maximum weight limit of 220 pounds.
The LCD display is conveniently located between the foot pedals for easy viewing as you row. The console displays: calories, time, count, count per minute and total count.
When you’re done with your workout, the machine folds up for easy storage in the corner of a room or a closet. Another great thing about this model using band resistance is that it’s not quite as heavy as other rowers. While it’s not entirely portable, it is easy to move this machine from one area of the room to another.
- Adjustable tension levels
- Folds up for easy storage
- LCD display allows you to view important workout stats
- Seat is comfortable
- Pedals keep your feet in place
- Affordable price
- Easy assembly
- May not be ideal for advanced users
While the four levels of tension resistance can be challenging for beginners and intermediate users, it may be too weak for more advanced users. If you are an advanced user looking for a rower that will help you progress further, you may want to consider a different model.
Aside from this minor issue, the SF-RW5606 is a great rower with a compact, user-friendly design. It delivers a great workout for beginners and intermediate users, and its affordable price makes it a great option for budget-conscious buyers.
